New Resources from New York State Farm to School

November 16, 2016

New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets has added new resources for New York Farm to School on the department's website, including a map of New York schools who participated in the USDA Farm to School Census.

According to the USDA, 298 school districts - 43% of New York's schools - participate in farm to school programs. Using the map, farmers can see which school districts in their area have programs they could work with. Likewise, schools can find information and state resources for starting a farm to school program on the website, including a new Getting Local Food into New York State Schools toolkit for food service directors, 'Harvest of the Month' posters, classroom lessons, harvest charts and more.
